Im not just buying 2x4's

Here is my "haul" so far for my christmas wood. Only exotics! I'll have enough to keep me busy for six months! I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT RARE WOOD! Much more than I think anyone understands... This first piece is a very large whole burl of Box Elder Flame, and it happens to be the most colorful piece of wood I have ever seen. It will make a fantastic hand carved bowl!

Here is some Redwood Burl, beautiful lace figuring, plenty of cracks that I can fill with crushed gem stones for a really gorgeous finish.

This piece is the largest figured juniper one of my suppliers has ever come across, these colorful rings are very very rare to find in juniper. There is enough to make at least two bowls, or one large sculpture-bowl. I got it for a steal...

One side is already heart shaped. Heart shaped heart wood...

This gorgeous burlwood is the most famous of them all: AMBOYNA. This is perhaps the most expensive wood out there, BMW buys up alot of the yearly supply to use in dash boards of their high end cars. I have seen pieces with slightly more figure than the ones I got go for over 100 dollars for the same size block. I got each for less than a quarter of that!

Beautiful sapwood/burl eye/ swirly grain combo on the end of this stock. I will use this piece on only my most expensive pens. Amboyna pens sell very well.

I got these two for a steal, it seems no one wanted a piece that didnt apparently have a ton of burl eyes. There could still be a million just a milimeter under the surface, you never know until you chop it up. Same goes for the figured pieces, it could be just a facade, with ugly wood and cracks underneath. I dont really care about the eyes, these pieces have some of the most beautiful grain I have ever seen.

Gmelia burl I dont know that much about, other than it is beautiful. Grays tans and browns, beautiful swirly eyes.

Afzelia is one of my favorite woods, I have yet to work with it, but it is supposed to be one of the most stable woods. And it is beautiful! I was able to get three very different pieces of this, so Ill be able to offer my customers some variety. This first piece is my favorite of the Afzelia, plain cut, beautiful curls facing the end grain on both sides.

Close up of the curly ends, this wood will be nearly holographic.
This is a cross cut piece of the same variety, but include the beautiful sapwood at one end. This piece is large enough for many pens. Has some curls opposite the sapwood.
This piece has no curls, no sapwood, but beautiful cross grain and peppering.
See not a bad way to spend 100 dollars, Im going to be able to make way more than that back from just one of the pieces.

The worst ricer I have ever seen

I happened upon this abomination in the kroger parking lot yesterday. I couldnt believe my eyes. It astounds me how little style and sense these people in savannah have. Ive never seen more stick on air vents in my entire life. I think they may have cleaned pep boys OUT. The most ridiculous thing yet is the air vents on the mirror, bitch, that doesn't even make sense... Congrats "janice" (spelled in mailbox letters), you have the worst car I have seen in a long, long time. Maybe ever...
